Important Updates: 2025 Green Law Africa Initiative Moot Court Competition

We are pleased to announce several important updates regarding the upcoming Green Law Africa Initiative Moot Court Competition, aimed at ensuring broader participation, logistical ease, and an enhanced experience for all participants.

Key Updates

Extended Registration Deadline

To accommodate the growing interest across the continent, the registration deadline has been extended to 17 September 2025.

Extended Memorial Submission Deadline

Teams may now submit their written memorials up to midnight on the eve of the Moot Court Competition.

Venue Change

Please note that the competition venue has been moved from Mzumbe University Dar es Salaam Campus to the Main Campus in Morogoro, Tanzania.

Accommodation and Meals

All mooters will be fully provided with accommodation and meals throughout the competition period.

Faculty members accompanying the teams are kindly requested to make independent arrangements for their accommodation.

Transportation and Access to Morogoro

Visiting Law Schools are required to cater for their transportation to Dar es Salaam on arrival for the Moot Court Competition.

Participants will access Morogoro via the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Dar es Salaam.

Transportation will be provided from:

Dar es Salaam to the SGR Station

SGR Station in Morogoro to Mzumbe University

Within Morogoro during the competition

Return from Mzumbe to SGR Morogoro, and onward to Dar es Salaam Airport

Law schools are responsible for covering the SGR ticket cost, estimated at KES 1,500 per person (approx. USD 12).

All Other Information Remains Unchanged

All other guidelines and expectations shared in the initial communication remain in full effect.
