Retired Justice Matthew Emukule is a distinguished jurist and Senior Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, currently serving as the Chair of the Advisory Board at BBA Advocates.
With an illustrious career spanning decades in the judiciary, he retired from the bench with honour, having made significant contributions to Kenya’s legal landscape. Justice Emukule is a passionate advocate for environmental justice and now plays a pivotal role in climate litigation as a Petitioner in a landmark suit demanding government accountability in addressing the climate crisis.
He also serves as the Presiding Judge in the Green Law Africa Initiative Climate Justice Moot Court Competitions, where he mentors and inspires the next generation of climate justice champions across Africa. His deep commitment to justice, community, and sustainability continues to drive transformative legal action and education throughout the continent.
